Today’s weather forecast and breaking events

Hello my name is Mariah Lesage bringing you today’s weather forecast and breaking events.

Let's start with the breaking events. There have been many very unusual sightings here lately in Rome. Here are a few of the streets’ and sightings some witnesses have experienced.

One of the sightings was down on Main Street, where a witness said they had seen a man walking around with fire coming out from his hands and it was not burning him!

Next we had a sighting of a lion stalking around down near Oak Drive and Harbor Lane. It did not look like it would eat anyone, but I would not go near it if I were you.

We also heard from a small group of terrified women that stated they had seen many men walking up and down the street of Berry Avenue caught on fire!

Last but not least, an owl which usually only comes out at night, was heard shrieking at noon near Web Ridge, by a few witnesses!

In my opinion, I would caution everyone to stay away from these streets.

What I think about these events is that the gods are angry with us for doing something terrible, but what? I am not sure why they are angry, but the way these events are occurring, something is wrong.

As for the weather, there may be some thunderstorms expected later today, but mostly cloudy for today and tomorrow.

About The Author And Plot

The author of this book is Kelly Armstrong. Kelley has written about 15 books so far in her career. She lives in Ontario, Canada. Her first book she had written and published was a book called "Bitten". Her first book in the darkest powers series is "The Summoning". She wrote the second book in this series which is called "The Awakening". She has always loved to write about fantasy. Kelley is very talented when it comes to making her books life like.

"The Summoning" is about a totally normal girl that started seeing ghosts one day. Her name is Chloe Saunders, and she ends up freaking out at school when she sees a ghost in school that is following her. No one believes her when she tries to tell them why she was running around the school screaming. So they send her to a Mental Facility for "troubled teens". That's where she found out she wasn't the only one who had a gift. There are 5 other kids in this home, which is called the Lyle house. Chloe, Derek, Simon, Rae, Liz, and Victoria are all in this Lyle house. Victoria, or Tori, only likes Liz, she despises everyone else. When everyone finds out why Chloe ended up there they all thought she was crazy, except Derek. Derek helps Chloe find out what she is and how powerful she can be; she finds out she's a necromancer, someone who can talk to and raise the dead. Liz is having trouble too, she keeps saying she is seeing a poltergeist and every time she gets mad her poltergeist reacts to it which destroys things around her. Not to much later Chloe finds out Simon is a sorcerer, Derek is a werewolf, and Rae is half demon. A few days later while exploring a locked door Chloe accidentally raises some dead people whom used to be patients in the house. They tell Chloe how the owner of the Lyle house used to experiment on people like them, and that they are very unfortunate. Simon and Derek tell Chloe and Rae about their father and how he used to help people with special abilities. Later in the week Simon, Derek, and Chloe decide to escape to go find their father; so they create a plan. When they escape they run straight for the old abandoned warehouses. That is where Rae and Chloe get separated from the other two. They thought it would be OK to trust Aunt Lauren to take them somewhere else, whom in the end betrays them and takes them to another facility.

Setting and Atmosphere

The whole setting takes place in Buffalo, NY. There are two main settings. The first setting is at the Lyle house. The Lyle house seems nice and welcoming; but its not. the Lyle house is full of secrets, dark secrets. The atmosphere of the Lyle house is very awkward, disturbing, and secretive. It's only like that at night though. Its only like that because Chloe can talk to the dead. So there are many dead people there she can hear and unleash accidentally.

Chloe Saunders

Chloe Saunders is the main character in "The Summoning" and in "The Awakening". Chloe is a very complex girl. There are so many things happening to her in a short time. Chloe is trying to deal with becoming a necromancer, trying to escape the Lyle house before anything happens, finding out whom she can trust, and whom she can't. No one would believe her when she saw the ghost in school. She was scared and no one believed her. So she has many things to worry about when she is in the Lyle house, and outside of it. Outside of the Lyle house she had to worry about how she and the others were going to survive until they could find Simon and Derek's father to help them.

My Review

I love this book; I couldn't get enough of it! Through out the whole book it was intense and always kept you on your toes. Every Chapter got more and more interesting. I have read this book at least 4 times now. "The Summoning" is one of my favourite books of all time.
